Sandy Fields (born April 3, 1970, in Walterboro, South Carolina) is an American professional basketball player. Fields currently has accepted a NBA Development League team invite for the 2011–12 season.
Fields played four years of varsity basketball for Walterboro High School located in Walterboro, South Carolina. He played his freshmen season for Francis Simmons, who later coach at Georgetown University as an assistant. Fields would have a good high school career at Walterboro High School, where he average 19.7pt and 9.5 rebounds his senior season. He would receive many post season awards for his outstanding play his senior season. Fields was name to the 6-4A All Region Team, and received the Most Valuable Player honors for his senior season.
He played college basketball at Claflin University located in Orangeburg, South Carolina,[1] graduating with a bachelor degree in Sociology/Criminal Justice. Fields is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity,(Delta Alpha chapter).
In 2005, Fields was selected by Tunica Gamblers of the World Basketball Association. From 2006 until 2009, Fields played for the Rome Serv-Pro basketball club of the South Eastern Basketball League.[2] Fields suffered a ruptured achilles preparing for the 2010 season. After fully recovering from his previous injury, Fields has been invited to play for a NBA Development League team for the 2011–12.
